| Why Vibrant Worship? |
Over several months in 2008, the Parochial Church Council (PCC) listened to comments about our worship, and in consequence made some small changes to provide a greater variety of style and more interesting content. (Return to top)
The result was intended to enable each of us to worship God at some time every month in a way that lets us all do that as we each find best. (Return to top)
The changes were not too great. The first, second and fifth Sundays remained pretty much unchanged but the 3rd and 4th Sundays were different. (Return to top)
After Easter 2009, a second 'Green' Service booklet was introduced as well as the one we'd already got, so we can have some variation during the long period of 'Ordinary Time' from Pentecost to Advent. This was designed to give more variety and interest to our weekly worship of God. (Return to top) |
| What Did People Want? |

A Discussion Activity
in 'Messy Church |

The Service Projected
Instead of From Books |
To find out what people want, the PCC tried experiments with a 'Fresh Expression' in the Parish Hall called Messy Church, a 'Said' Communion service in church without the choir and hymns, an evening Service during the summer months, and an informal 'all-age' Family Service for special occasions, with the words projected on a screen and a play or dramatised reading led by the children and junior choir instead of a formal Sermon. (Return to top) |
| From the feedback we were given, we decided to stop the 'Messy Church' event in the hall and to concentrate on the Family Service in church instead, not to provide Evensong (as there wasn't many attending) but to include a 'Said' Communion once a month for those who don't find singing helpful.
