| 'The church' is the name given to a group of people who have a common belief in God and who meet together to honour him, and to support each other. Confusingly, 'the church' is also used to describe the building in which they meet.
'Religion' is about belief in and response to a 'supreme being' - usually called 'God'.
'Christianity' is the world's largest religion and is named after Jesus of Nazareth - known as Jesus Christ.
Christianity teaches that we should love God with all our heart and mind but that we should also love our neighbour as ourselves. This section is therefore divided into two parts (i) Faith - our response to God and (ii) Church in the World - how the Church carries it's principals into the world. (Return to top) |
