Charity Family Communion

A lively and joyful African flavour was present throughout the morning Charity Eucharist Service on Sunday 28th April.  Rev'd Tony Lomas described the work of Action Aid in Zimbabwe where the children from Ann Cam School have a link with a young student called Bridget.  African choruses were led by the Adult Choir, Young Voices and members of Ann Cam School Choir, who also performed a thought provoking song entitled “Drop in the Ocean”. (Return to top)

The recently formed girls ensemble “Harmonation” sang a Michael Jackson song “Heal the World” and Lauren Freestone led the moving setting of the Lord’s Prayer from 'African Sanctus'.  Prayers were led by members of the Fun Club guided by Caroline Dunnett.  This memorable service raised £250 that was forwarded to the School’s Action Aid account in time to attract matching funding through a United Nations initiative. Annual Parochial Church Meeting

Our 'Annual Meeting' this year was held on Wednesday 17th April, when 18 members were present in church to hear a report on the various activities during the past year. The minutes of last year's meeting, that had been displayed in the porch for the previous week, were approved after correction of two minor errors and our Treasurer, Mike Poulter, presented the audited accounts. These showed that we'd made a net loss this year of £5,682 due to the 'Restoration Works' we've been doing to the building since 2008. However, that work is coming to an end with the granting of a 'Faculty' (church permission) to make repairs to the stonework, and the reinstatement of the Faculty to build the new Lavatory. Representatives of the several church organisations and Ann Cam School reported on their various activities, and the Church Council was re-elected en-block. Finally thanks were expressed to various people who had helped or supported the church during the year. (Return to top)
Easter Flowers

Like many churches, we had no flowers in church during the six weeks of Lent, but filled the church with flowers to celebrate the joy of Easter. (Return to top)
