Men's Breakfast: Every-other month, Open to all Men
Saturday 9:15-10:30am: This group meets at the Beauchamp Arms pub next to the church. Following a Full English Breakfast (toast & coffee if on a diet!) and casual chat, the last half hour focuses on a topical subject, usually with a guest expert to facilitate the discussion. See 'Diary' for current details. (Contact: Roger Parker). (Return to top)
Daffodil Teas: Every Spring
Dymock is situated in an area famous for spring fields of wild daffodils. Tea, coffee and homemade cake are served in church from 11:00-4:00 throughout this season for the many people who visit the area and the church during that time. More information about daffodil walks is available on the Dymock Community Website.
Lent Lunches: Every Spring
A basic lunch is served every Tuesday for visitors and parishioners during the season of Lent. This usually coincides with the Daffodil Teas (see above). Profit from the Daffodil Teas is given to St Mary's 'Special Projects' fund to pay for new items or facilities needed in the church. Recent items include a new path in the churchyard, replacement carpet in the aisles and renovation of several embroidered items. (Collections are made at other times for selected national and international charities). (Return to top)
Parochial Church Council: The PCC meets at regular intervals throughout the year
In the Church of England, the Rector, Churchwardens and PCC are jointly responsible for the church. Church officers are automatically members (Ex Officio) and other church members are proposed and elected at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting in April (APCM). Our PCC has four focused committees that consider their subject in detail and report back to the PCC for executive authority/decisions - Worship and Mission, Finance and Fabric, Outreach and Fundraising', Standing Committee. In addition, we are members of the Benefice-wide 'Ministry Focus Group' (Contact: the Rector, Rev'd Anthony Lomas). (Return to top)
